Overview
The File Manager in the BionicWP platform allows you to securely manage your website files and folders directly from the dashboard; without needing SSH or SFTP access.
Using a secure SSH-based connection in the background, the File Manager gives you full control over your site’s file system in a clean, easy-to-use interface.
This feature is designed to save time, reduce friction, and make common file operations fast and safe.
Where to Find the File Manager
Log in to your BionicWP dashboard
Click on the Site you want to manage
Navigate to File Manager tab from the site details page
What You Can Do with the File Manager
The File Manager supports all essential file and folder operations, including:
File & Folder Management
View files and folders
Upload files
Download files or folders
Create new folders
Delete files or folders
Move files and folders
Copy & paste files and folders
Editing & Access
View file contents directly in the dashboard
Edit PHP, CSS, and JS files directly from the File Manager (files under 5MB)
Manage files without SSH or SFTP credentials
Permissions
Reset file and folder permissions to default/safe values
Archive Management
Create archives (
.tar.gz)Extract archives:
.zip.tar.tar.gz
All archive actions are handled server-side, so there’s no need to download or upload large files manually.
