Understanding Hosting Support vs Development Work

Edited

Overview

At BionicWP, our goal is to deliver the fastest, most secure, and most stable hosting experience for your WordPress sites. We specialize in performance, security, server-level troubleshooting, caching, CDN, backups, and infrastructure support.

We do not provide development or design services because development work requires a different skill set, workflow, and time commitment. To maintain the highest quality of hosting support and ensure fast response times for all customers, we keep our focus entirely on hosting related issues.

How to Know if an Issue Is Related to Hosting or Development

A quick way to determine whether an issue is related to caching or to development is the logged in test.

The Logged In Test

If you are logged in to WordPress and you can still see the issue, this means:

  • You are bypassing all caches

  • No optimization or caching layer is affecting the page

  • The issue is not related to performance, caching, CDN, or our systems

In this case, the problem is coming from the site’s code, theme, plugins, JS, CSS, or layout structure.

This means the issue is a development related issue and needs to be fixed by your developer.

Why We Cannot Fix Development Related Issues

We often receive messages like:

  • “Can someone on your team fix this?”

  • “Can we pay you to resolve this layout or functionality issue?”

We truly appreciate the trust, but we must decline for the following reasons:

1. We are a hosting company

Our support is dedicated to hosting, security, caching, performance, and infrastructure reliability. Development work requires a separate workflow that falls outside our scope.

2. Development tasks can take significant time

Code level issues can involve debugging themes, plugins, custom scripts, JS conflicts, and layout fixes. These tasks can go back and forth for hours or even days and require a developer who has full control over the site’s codebase.

3. Development work affects support quality

If our hosting team starts taking on development tasks, it slows down response time and affects our ability to support all clients efficiently. Our priority is to keep hosting stable, secure, fast, and consistent for everyone.

What We Can Help With

BionicWP provides full support for the following:

  • Server performance and resource issues

  • Caching, CDN, Edge Cache, and Performance Optimization

  • NitroPack, WP-Rocket, and Ultimate Cache configuration

  • PHP versions, DB tuning, and server-side errors

  • SSL, DNS guidance, site migrations

  • DDoS protection, firewall rules, bot filtering

  • Backup restoration and malware cleanup

  • Plugin conflicts caused by performance optimization

  • Identifying development issues and guiding you in the right direction

What Requires a Developer

The following types of issues must be handled by your designer or developer:

  • Layout or styling breaks

  • Missing or broken sections, sliders, or menus

  • JS errors and interactive element issues

  • Custom plugin or theme fixes

  • Changes to design, structure, or functionality

  • Issues that appear even when you are logged in

  • Coding, scripting, or debugging tasks

  • Custom features, redesigns, or new page builds

Summary

BionicWP is your hosting partner and performance optimization expert. We ensure your site is fast, secure, and running on world-class infrastructure. When an issue is development-related, we will always guide you on how to identify it, but the resolution itself must be handled by a developer because it is outside the hosting scope.
