How to Purge Cache for a Single Page or Post Using WP Rocket
Overview
WP Rocket is a leading caching plugin for WordPress, designed to optimize your site’s speed by storing fast-loading copies of your pages. If you update a particular page or post and want those changes to go live instantly, you can purge the cache for just that page or post. This is much more efficient than clearing your entire site’s cache and helps keep your site speedy for all other visitors.
How It Works
WP Rocket automatically clears the cache for individual pages and posts when you update them from the WordPress editor. However, if you make changes that aren’t part of the standard WordPress content (such as via custom fields, shortcodes, or plugins), you may want to manually purge the cache for a specific page. The “Clear this post/page cache” feature is available from the WordPress admin bar when viewing the page on the front end while logged in as an administrator.
Step by Step Instructions
To purge cache for a single page or post from the admin bar:
Login to your WordPress dashboard as an admin.
Visit the page or post you want to clear the cache for, directly on the front end of your site (not in the editor).
In the WordPress admin bar at the top, find the WP Rocket menu.
Click on “Purge this URL” in the dropdown menu.
A confirmation will appear, letting you know the cache for this specific page/post has been purged.
ProTip
When making changes that won’t trigger an automatic cache clear—such as edits to custom fields, widgets, or shortcodes—use the admin bar option to instantly update the page for your visitors without affecting your entire site’s cache.
