How to Identify Billing Mode in Whitelabel Platform (Online vs Offline)
Overview
The BionicWP Whitelabel platform enables agencies to offer managed WordPress hosting services under their own brand. As a partner, you can choose how clients are billed; either through the built-in platform (Online Billing) or externally via your own methods (Offline Billing). Understanding the difference is essential to manage client expectations, site deployments, and automated processes correctly.
How It Works
When setting up a Whitelabel account, partners select a billing type:
1. Online Billing
Clients see pricing and checkout directly on your branded platform.
Your Stripe is used as a payment method.
Site provisioning happens automatically once payment is made.
Ideal for agencies that want a hands-off approach with direct-to-client transactions.
2. Offline Billing
Pricing and checkout are hidden from clients.
You handle billing and invoicing separately from the platform.
Sites launched are charged to your main BionicWP account CC.
Ideal for agencies with pre-existing billing workflows or custom service tiers.
Once configured, the billing mode defines what your clients see when logged into the Whitelabel portal and how sites are provisioned.
Step-by-Step: How to Identify Billing Type
Log in to the BionicWP Portal.
Go to
→ WhiteLabel in the left sidebar
In the top-most card, check for the Billing indicator.
If set to Stripe Billing, your clients will see checkout screens, and Stripe (or another payment gateway) will be active.
If set to Offline Billing, there will be no checkout or pricing visible—provisioning is manual.
Pro Tip: The "Plans" Pricing you set in the "Offline Billing" mode isn't displayed to your users.
