How to Use Collaborator Access in BionicWP

Edited

Overview

Collaborator access allows you to grant limited, secure access to a specific WordPress site inside your BionicWP dashboard — without sharing your full account credentials. This is perfect for developers, team members, or contractors who need to work on a specific site without managing billing or other sites.

How It Works

You can invite collaborators to any individual site in your account. Once added, they’ll receive an email invitation to create their own login. From there, they can manage that site just like you — but only the one(s) you’ve shared.

Collaborators can:

  • Access the BionicWP dashboard for assigned sites

  • Manage backups, staging, plugin updates, and other tools

  • Launch into WordPress admin via 1-click login

They cannot:

  • See or manage your billing details

  • Access other sites in your account

  • Add or remove other collaborators

Step-by-Step Instructions

To Add a Collaborator:

  1. Go to your BionicWP Dashboard

  2. Click into the site you want to share access to

  3. In the sidebar, select Collaborator Access

  4. Click Add Collaborator

  5. Enter the person’s name and email address

  6. Click Send Invite

  7. The collaborator will receive an email with login instructions

To Accept the Invitation (Collaborator Instructions):

  1. Log into your BionicWP account (or create one if prompted)

  2. Go to Collaborator > Supervisor tab

  3. Accept the pending invitation

  4. Once accepted, navigate to Sites > Shared Sites to access the shared project

To Remove a Collaborator:

  1. Go to the Collaborator Access tab for the site

  2. Click the trash icon next to the user’s name

  3. Confirm removal

Pro Tip: Use collaborator access instead of sharing your login — it’s more secure and gives you full control over who sees what. Perfect for handing off dev work or site maintenance to a freelancer or internal team member.
