What Is a Blueprint (And How It Works)

Edited

Overview

A Blueprint in BionicWP is your custom starting point for launching new WordPress sites. Think of it as your “master template” — complete with themes, plugins, settings, and configurations you use often. Instead of building every site from scratch, you launch a pre-configured version in just a few clicks.

How It Works

Once you’ve created a site with all your favorite settings, plugins, and optimizations, you can save it as a Blueprint. From there, any new site you launch can be cloned from that Blueprint — no plugin-by-plugin setup or repetitive steps.

Blueprints are especially useful for agencies and freelancers who want to standardize builds across multiple clients.

  • Available from your BionicWP dashboard under the Blueprints tab

  • Can be created from any existing site

  • Saves the entire environment (themes, plugins, settings, not content)

Step-by-Step Instructions

To Create a Blueprint:

  1. Choose an existing site from your BionicWP dashboard

  2. Click the More Options menu (3 dots)

  3. Select Create Blueprint

  4. Give your Blueprint a name and click Save

To Launch a Site from a Blueprint:

  1. Click Add New Site

  2. Choose Start from Blueprint

  3. Select the Blueprint you want to use

  4. Launch your new site — it’ll be preloaded with all your saved configurations

Pro Tip:

Use Blueprints to speed up client onboarding. Build a “starter site” with your core plugin stack, SEO tools, and page builder of choice — then deploy it across clients to save hours on setup.
