How to Create a Staging Site From Your Live/Dev Site

Edited

Overview

A staging site is a clone of your live or development WordPress site, allowing you to test updates, design changes, or new features in a safe environment without affecting your live site. BionicWP makes this process seamless with a one-click staging feature.

Use this method when you need to experiment with changes, troubleshoot issues, or prepare updates before deploying them to your live site.

How It Works

BionicWP's platform enables you to create a staging environment directly from your site's dashboard. This staging environment is an exact replica of your current site, hosted separately to ensure that any changes made do not impact your live site.

Once the staging site is created, you can switch between the live and staging environments from the top of the page in your site's dashboard.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1 Navigate to https://app.bionicwp.com/

2 Log into your account and go to “Sites” in the left navigation.

3 Find the site you want to create a staging site.

4 On the site's dashboard, go to the Advanced tab and click the "+ Launch" button on the Staging Site card.

5 After clicking “Launch” in the Staging Site card, once the operation is successful, you can change the site environment from the top of the page.

You can now make your changes in the staging environment without affecting your live site. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to us.

Pro Tip: Remember to test all functionalities thoroughly on your staging site before pushing any changes live. This ensures a smooth and error-free experience for your site visitors.
